Buildings in large densely populated cities have a potential to become joyful, cheerful and soulful spaces for people to live and work. For individuals to thrive and flourish for living or work, there is a need to capture the holistic environment of the building design as well as to enhance the user experience.
This project seeks to evaluate the Indoor Environment Quality and to understand how it affects the occupants’ health, well- being and productivity.
This research analyses the work of the “Second Home” company which uses the concept of Biophilia by bringing nature to the inside of the building by adding large numbers of plants and to further propose that biophilia can potentially solve issues such as thermal comfort, air quality, acoustics, lighting and the office layout.
