As lifestyles become more water-intensive and washing becomes more accessible, greater pressure is placed on rapidly-depleting water resources. With it estimated that 40% of clothes put in for wash are suitable to be worn again, there is a huge opportunity to save water by reducing the amount of clothes put in for wash unnecessarily.
The basket takes a holistic approach to the problem, by informing the user on
the amount of water being used in their laundry process, allowing them to act responsively. The basket also notifies the user when they have enough laundry for a complete load - preventing underfilling and overfilling of the machine. Additionally, the supplementary app provides enhanced product functionality as users are able to view their habits in more detail, set targets and share wash loads with other dual basket users.
