This chair is produced from bamboo and so reduces the need for hardwoods and softwoods in the flatpack furniture industry. Bamboo is a renewable material which will quickly re-grow when harvested. Bamboo creates a strong and durable chair and is the only material used in the product. The assembly process does not require any tools, fixtures or glue and uses only friction to hold the chair together. A simple wedge is placed into a slot underneath the backrest to fix the pieces in place. The user can choose to personalise their chair by adding painted areas to create a product with a modern and colourful finish unique to them. By extending the product’s life span, strain on the environment is reduced and therefore the company focuses on sustainability in all aspects; promoting reuse, repair and recycling.
