MA Design Strategy & Innovation

MA Design Strategy & Innovation aims to give designers and other creative disciplines the skills and knowledge to utilise design thinking and to leverage design in the pursuit of strategic organisational change and improvement in private and public sectors as well as not-for-profit organisations. Graduates from this course often pursue careers in innovation from both consultancy and client positions. The programme explores how design can be a catalyst for various types of innovation – e.g. new products and services, new processes, new ways of managing creative teams and collaborating with stakeholders. The students will learn how to evaluate user needs and market demand and discuss key factors influencing innovation development, such as digital economy, collaborative economy and social responsibility. They also investigate future scenarios and emerging practices in the field of design and innovation in order to develop strategic appropriate directions for innovation and innovation culture. We actively engage with pioneers in the field of design and innovation. They are regularly invited to give lectures and run workshops and seminars with students. Students are also given opportunities to engage with on-going externally funded research projects.
