As the social environment develops, helping people with disabilities has received increased global attention. The purpose of this project is to help visually impaired persons living in high-rise buildings to escape fire catastrophes quickly while avoiding secondary injuries. Wombat helps the visually impaired escape fires safely through emergency first aid, braille guidance, professional guidance and the best escape path. Design opportunities for the concept were identified through interviews with blind and relevant stakeholders, market analysis, target demographic data and user research. Functional electronic systems (GPS) and high-fidelity interactive presentations were also realised. By using the collected information, an iterative design process from sketching to CAD model creation was performed to finalise the design direction. The aesthetic design language, function and human factors were all adequately considered.
