Light pollution is directly affecting our planet’s environment. It is a problem which is often ignored, overlooked or not even considered, but it is having serious implications. Currently, 83% of the world’s population is living under skies that are at least 10% brighter than their natural, unpolluted state. You do not realise how bad light pollution is in London until you move here from an area which has minimal. This project was designed to address a problem that needed more awareness and attention.
Using night sky photos taken from dark sky locations, such as Dorset & Devon, these were photoshopped on to well-known locations in London. The aesthetic appeal of these images should make people realise what London could look like if there was less light pollution and take action.
