Cancer is one of the most difficult life circumstances an individual can go through. During this intense period, an individual succumbs to a great deal of both physical and mental strain which includes a great sense of loneliness. Studies reveal that a patient’s level of social integration and support can affect recovery rates by up to 66%. The Drivers Club is a recovery construction kit that aims to tackle loneliness by creating an environment where patients can form friendships and become better socially-integrated into a community through competitive activity. The kit includes all the components required to form a custom Remote Control car with interchangeable cardboard bodies, which can be built and raced alongside others. This breaks the ice and allows patients to develop their social support networks amongst others in similar situations.
