The plant growing station is designed to aid the user to look after a plant by providing information about the plant’s environment. Sensors on the prototype record information such as temperature and light levels. By measuring these levels, the plant growing station can turn on its LEDs when it detects the light reaching the plant is too low. The LEDs provide the plant with white, red and blue light. Red light is essential for a plant’s early life including seed germination and root growth, in addition to stimulatingthe growth of flowers and fruit, while blue light is known to promote chlorophyll production which helps to keep leaves and stems healthy and the strong. The plant growing station also assists the efficiency of the plant’s growth by rotating theplant to ensure uniform light distribution
