A retrofitted mobility scooter that is controlled via a single joystick & button. The scooter can carry up to 100kg and move in forward/reverse direction as well as steer. The user can interact with the device via the controller and a LCDdisplay. The PIC sends signals to 2 H-Bridges which control the high current from the battery going to the motors. The parameters such as relative speed and direction of turn can be read on the LCD. Going forward is possible using PWM which allows for speed control. Going backwards can only be done at full speed - the user is prompted to check if it is safe to do so as a safety feature. The joystick button acts as an additional control for entering the user credentials at start of operation and as a buzzer during operation.
