The spread of germs from public toilets is a silent epidemic, primarily down to the lack of personal hygiene practices within these environments. It’s estimated that if everyone routinely washed their hands, a million deaths a year could be prevented as well as being able to reduce the risk of respiratory infections by 16%.
At the start of this project, no one could have seen the significantly-increased need and appeals for hand washing. As the Covid-19 pandemic impacts and changed the lives for so many, never has the need for a change to human handwashing practices been so important. Hygienix uses gamification elements to emulate competition and to motivate users into changing their hygiene practices.
